PEOPLE'S VOICE

I recently saw a video on YouTube in my very first online session at Pearl Academy. and what I saw in that video is very sad and depressing, how we are treating mother nature is wrong. How we are taking everything from mother nature as if it's our personal property and not reciprocating it back instead we are polluting and harming nature.

Our existence on this planet is a threat to this planet and also the climate change which is the result of our doing is an existential threat to life on earth.
The world health organization has predicted that in 30 years climate change will be directly responsible for the deaths of over 2,50,000 people each year but, many governments are failing to respond.

The determined pressure groups believe that change is possible, and they're trying to push immediate environmental action to the top of the list of many political parties' political agendas and they are gathering momentum.

EXTINCTION REBELLION

A UK-based group of young activists, who are pushing for a radical change in government policies to avert the climate crisis. The members of this group believe that the only solution to this problem of climate change is the people's uprising.

SUNRISE MOVEMENT

A growing and ambitious group of young people in the United States of America is campaigning for environmental action with immediate effect.
most of the members of this group are under 30 years old and have grown to 1,00,000 members in just 2 years.
the sunrise movement has become a force to be reckoned with in U.S. politics. Their strategy is clear to stop climate change by working within the system and lobbying politicians into pushing through legislative and economic reforms.
The existence of human civilization on this planet is now under threat and yet our politicians have become deaf and they are not taking necessary actions. fearful for the planet that they will inherit, youth in many countries are standing up and demanding a better future.

The heart of the sunrise strategy is the green new deal, a radical environmental change policy introduced in the 1960s. The goal of this policy is to completely transform the US economy by ending its dependency on fossil fuels and investing in renewable energy and creating jobs in the process instead.

Both these groups were triggered by climate change like massive floods, rise in the earth's temperature, frequent hurricanes and other natural calamities.
I think that there should be political actions with immediate effect in all countries and there should be major economic reforms like a budget to save and preserve our planet for us and future generations.

but I am curious if it's possible to bring change through these movements that are done or started by the people because I think mostly all the young people feel that they don't have the power at all to make any change if we come together because, there is no debate on climate change, but the debate is how much willing are the people to save the environment. I am also wondering why there is no such group of environmental activists in India. countries like Norway, France and New Zealand are some of the countries that have legally committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
